Important Information for US Shoppers - Updated October 15th

Update - October 15th, 2025

We have successfully trialed the new import service and the initial shipments with this service are on the way to our customers.

This means no-fee, no-tariff shipments to the USA are once again available for Hit Box subscribers and one-time purchasers.  We can not offer this service for non-Hit Box orders of retail and hobby products as we can not personally certify them as USMCA/CUSMA compliant, although we are looking in to a blanket declaration from the card producers themselves.

Customers will receive their shipments via USPS and their tracking information will be available directly though the site as before.  The only small change is that US shipments will be batched as there is significant paperwork that will need to be filed with the importer, and batching reduces time and cost for us.  For monthly and bi-weekly subscribers this will not be a significant change in handling time, and in fact orders will likely arrive quicker than before as we are no longer waiting for UPS and customs to coordinate their clearance process.

Once again, as a thank you to our US customers and their patience while we worked through this process, the 5% discount on US subscriptions will remain active for November.

If a US customer resumes a paused subscription, restarts a cancelled subscription, or begins a new subscription before November 1st, that discount will also be applied to their next payment.

Update - October 5th, 2025

Good news for US subscribers is that this week we will be signing an agreement with a bulk US importer who will be able to bring all US shipments across the border for us at one set price.  There is a lot of additional paperwork to be done on our side, but we will be able to pay all import fees up-front so that there will be no more import tariffs or import charges like the $26USD charge that UPS has been leveraging on to our customers.

We will be testing this solution later this week to ensure we have the process down and the paperwork in order but this means that in November we should be back to a regular no-additional-fee shipping solution for everyone.  I will send a further update once we can confirm that we are good to go for November shipments.  We will leave the 5% US subscriber discount in place for November as a thank you to everyone that stuck with us through this turbulent time.

August 19th, 2025

With a new executive order issued August 6th, all American shoppers need to be aware of changes to import rules for all shipments originating from Canada.

Prior to this new order, all shipments under $800USD in value were exempted from tariffs and duties under the de minimis exemption. As of August 29th, this de minimis exemption will be removed at the order of the US President.

While the products we ship are tariff free under the USMCA/CUSMA agreement, any products shipped to the USA from any country around the world must now be cleared by customs.  We ship to the US with UPS and this charge is usually about $26USD, and will be billed to the purchaser directly by UPS.  You as the buyer are the importer and are responsible for paying this fee.

For Hit Box subscribers ONLY, we are applying a 5% discount to subscription renewal payments for US customers to help offset this fee.  This will automatically be applied to your subscription account.

If your Hit Box order comes with a tariff applied, please refer to this post in order to obtain a USMCA/CUSMA compliance form to have the tariff removed.  Please note that this will not remove the $26 UPS charge, that is a brokerage charge and must be paid by the purchaser.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at info@hitboxsportscards.ca and we will do our best to help!

Cheers,

Dave @ Hit Box
